Random Song of the Day – 4/7/15

Today, Celldweller:

I know that, after I recapped the original review of Klayton’s first full record, I probably should’ve linked something at the time, but honestly, I wasn’t really into that idea; the self-title hasn’t aged especially well, and the only other track that sticks in my mind that Klayton has created is a cover of the Bee-Gee’s “Tragedy,” which was fine, but way too overwrought. So I did something I should’ve done a while ago and started listening to Klayton’s recent work, and this track, “Birthright,” works within the confines of what Klayton does with his music; that is, it’s overproduced in a way that makes the song better for it, and it doesn’t feel too overdone overall. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s a much better effort than I’ve heard from him so far, and it’s not a bad listen.
